KFC Singapore charged for selling unadulterated food.

We all love to make a quick stop at fast food outlets and satiate our hunger with some delicious burgers, fries or desserts. We get the food in minutes and the best part is that it always tastes amazing. We all frequent our favourite outlets like McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) but the concern of hygiene is always at the back of our mind, don’t you agree? The fear of the customers of this particular KFC eatery in Singapore came true when the news broke out that the outlet has been charged for selling unhygienic food on two counts.

Singapore Food Agency (SFA) took the bold decision of suspending the license of a KFC outlet in Punggol, Singapore for two weeks, from April 6 2021 till April 19 2021.

SFA also released an official press release stating that it was suspending the license of KFC outlet located at located at Oasis Terraces (681 Punggol Drive, blaming it for selling food that was “unclean or contained foreign matter”. According to the statement, the outlet had accumulated 12 demerit points over a 12-month period and was fined a total amount of $800 for these offences. The agency also revealed that “all food handlers working in the suspended premises would also be required to re-attend and pass the Food Safety Course Level 1, before they can resume work as food handlers.”
