Australia’s Ashleigh Barty stays on the prime of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings launched on Tuesday, regardless of happening within the semi-finals of the Australian Open final month. After claiming the Adelaide International title in January, the 23-year-old was then knocked out of the ultimate 4 within the Australian Open struggling a 7-6, 7-5 defeat in opposition to American Sofia Kenin who in the end gained the event. Despite the loss, Barty has retained her primary standing, whereas Sofia who went on to defeat Spain’s Garbine Muguruza within the remaining, surged as much as seventh place.

Meanwhile, former world primary from Japan Naomi Osaka dropped to 10th place, whereas 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams is on the ninth spot.
